Many and many people have started to travel all around the world. And there are a lot of places that everyone wants to see: Cote D’Azure, Cinque Terre, New York, Tokyo, Tenerife, etc. So, you hear people talking so often about the same destinations.
My questions now are….What happens with the “small” places?
Why people won’t go to Macedonia? Because you have all the reasons to go there. And still, Macedonia is not on everybody’s lips when it comes to the next holiday destination.
I suspect because this small country is not so exotic. Or maybe, because there were some political disputes for it’s name, but in which country you’ll find only milk and honey?
But, in a way or another, I’m happy to discover the less explored countries and then share with you my experiences.
Luckily, I’m intrigued by all the places that most people don’t talk about so much or visit that often.
I won’t tell you how I chose to visit Macedonia, but I’m glad I did it. And I hope you’ll enjoy what you’ll see through my pictures.
There are plenty of things to say about this country, but these are the ones that I find the most important: a small country with only 2 million people, where Christians get along with Muslims, where nature is ready to be discovered and explored, with beautiful mountains, landscapes and some of the nicest people I ever met.
This is my conclusion after Macedonia, but also, after visiting few countries, some of them, with such a different culture like: Turkey or Israel. None of them seemed to get along so well with other religions in the same country. Macedonia does.
Macedonia, actually, Skopje was a nice surprise for me for so many reasons: it is extremely opulent, much more than I expected, the people are really nice, the costs are not high and almost everyone knows English.
The prices are about 30 % below the average in Romania. So, if in Israel everyone would tell us that Romania is extremely cheap, I can’t imagine what they would say about Macedonia.
So, stop saying that traveling is way too expensive, it can be cheaper than you can imagine.
Soon: the articles about the main attractions in Skopje+the road by car Romania-Skopje.
